Developping and assessing digital skills at Shanghai French School

Digital skills are an essential part of education in a society where technological environment is constantly evolving. Following the Ministry of National Education programs, Shanghai French School offers digital skills training throughout the student’s schooling. Our students from Grade 10 on both campuses have thus taken on Monday June 7 and Tuesday June 8 the PIX certification, which allows to assess their skills.

Those last weeks, technology teachers were the pilots for setting up this first exam session at Shanghai French School. Students were able to self-assess and add value to their progress based on positioning tests on the dedicated online platform Pix.fr. The frame of reference for digital skills is organized in five categories and sixteen skills such as processing data, developing multimedia documents, securing the digital environment, programming, or solving technical problems.

This certification is an asset in the students’ internship search, in their higher education, as well as in their professional integration. As part of the usual teaching activities at school, it confirms the mobilisation of digital tools and resources, preparing our students to face the challenges of a digital environment constantly evolving.
