Departure from the school

Departure from the school

In case of departure from our school, please contact our Admissions department at least 1 month before the expected departure date.

First review our leaving procedures, then fill in and sign (both parents) the leaving form and send it to Mrs Mingmin WU (Admissions Department): mingmin.wu@lyceeshanghai

Please get to know our leaving procedure
Please download the leaving form

Two weeks before the departure date, make appointment with Mingmin WU (Qingpu Campus), Julia Fan (Yangpu Campus – Primary) or Yufei Teng (Yangpu Campus – Secondary) to withdraw your child’s school reports and leaving certificate*. Prior to the meeting, make sure you have returned all the school books and textbooks.

For scholarship students, it is also necessary to inform the General Consulate of France in Shanghai of the next school to possibly transfer the scholarship file.

Please note that at the end of our annual re-enrollment period starting beginning of March, we invoice the deposit on tuition fees (15,000 RMB) for the following academic year. It is therefore crucial that the family informs us prior May 31st that the child won’t pursue his education in our school for the next academic year.

* the leaving certificate certifies that the family has no outstanding balance in our school.

Departure for France

In case of a departure for France and pursue of education in junior and high schools there, to apply to a new school, the family must contact:

– the academic institution of their future home: Rectorat or DSDEN (Directions des Services Départementaux de l’Education Nationale)

– the Head of school of the preferred future school (for public schools, review below “The main principles of schooling in France”).

– the admissions department of Shanghai French School to start the leaving process.

For students leaving at the end of 3ème and 2nd, there is a specific return process in France:

– the academic institutions in France will communicate to the family the relevant information according to their child’s project. At the same time, it is necessary to inform Shanghai French School (College Counselling department, Head of Secondary School Assistant, Head of languages) for a follow-up of the file (documents, deadlines …)

– Shanghai French School will process the documents which are of its responsibility.

For admission in all other levels of junior and high schools, Shanghai French School does not interfere in the administration process of the family but will provide all the necessary documents for the family to apply to the new school.
