We’re delighted that you’re considering the LFS for your child’s education. From Monday, November 6, 2023, Shanghai French School accepts applications for back-to-school 2024-2025. There is no application deadline but we recommend you apply early to secure your place. Applications to join LFS during the current school year are received all year though places are subject to availability.
Registrations are open on both campuses in Qingpu and Yangpu from TPS (Pre-Kindergarten Class) to Grade 5.
They are only open on Yangpu campus from Grade 6 to Grade 11.
They are open on Qingpu campus for Grade 12.
Important: If we accept registrations throughout the year, we invite you to register as early as possible to ensure the campus and stream of your choice.
From the Toute Petite Section of Kindergarten (Pre-Kindergarten) on, we welcome non-French speakers with a dedicated support and a specific program to learn French and integrate better into the French curriculum.
Please note that the number of seats for non-French speakers remains limited. It is important to submit a complete application file as soon as possible.
Shanghai French School has made language learning one of its priorities with French, English and Chinese languages taught from kindergarten on. To offer students a stimulating multicultural environment, Shanghai French School offers four unique streams, adapted to each student’s needs.
Please note that the access to our language streams (European Section, American International Section, Chinese International Section) depends on a compatible level in French.
We welcome children with at least one of the two parents legally residing in China and meeting the following conditions:
In the case of one of these two conditions is not met, an exemption must be obtained from the Shanghai Municipality of Education Commission (SHMEC) to register the child in our establishment. Click here.
The Shanghai French School enrolls children whose parents are legally residing in Shanghai.
It is up to the parents to approach the Chinese authorities to obtain residence and work permits and to communicate these documents to us: copies of passports for the whole family and, in the case of foreign passports, copies of visas / travel document as well as the employment certificate of one of the two parents accompanied by the business license of the employer company.
We welcome new students at the beginning of the school year but also throughout the year. It is necessary to complete a registration form online for each child to attend school.
